Council Agenda
A. Approval of September Minutes
* No additions, No corrections, Approved as written
B. Committee Highlights
Liturgy-
* October 21- Praise and Song at St. Elizabeth’s
* Rosary Night for Advent- Joyful mysteries
* Lent- Possible evening prayer service or mission
with the theme of “healing”
Parish and Family Life
*Sodality Bazaar- Nov. 11th- planning off to a great
start- many items already for
the raffle, many vendors
* Rosary on Oct. 4th- went well, good turn out
* Parish Picnic- went very well
- Thanks to Bob Ford
who gave a presentation
* Youth Group- World Youth Day 10/28- theme: Catholic
to the Core- We are the
hosts at Martinak State Park and have invited youth from around the area.
* Senior Luncheon- Oct. 20th- well planned under the
guidance of Cheryl
Carmean, Linda Nickum and Jill King
* Campus Ministry- currently 30 students in college, 4
in the military, 3 we have
not heard from
* looking into a speaker on Fiscal planning/Finances
for the family
Building and Grounds
* Thanks to Jim Bradley and Bill Madden- The side
steps to St. Elizabeth’s have
been repaired with new
pressure treated wood for the risers and a repainted
railing
* Painting of the eaves at St. Elizabeth’s- 80%
completed
* Help Wanted- If you have any squirrels in need of
acorns- please collect some
out front of St.
Benedict’s
* Frank Hall- Has people who will take an aerial map
quality digital photo of the
cemetery and road at St. Elizabeth’s to see how much room is available for a
wall.
Christian Formation
*Super Sunday November 5-”We pray for all the members
of our parish”  
We will have a saint focus with
witness talks and presentations of saints
* First reconciliation class has begun
Social Ministry
* Lobby night meeting was held- discussed how to get
better attendance
Habitat
* Dover Downs trash pick up went well - 10 people
helped out!
* Chicken Dinner planned for the Spring
* 3 breakfasts will be served- Feb., March and April
* We will be selling homemade soups after masses in
the near future.
Voice of the Homeless
*Two weekends in Nov. there will be a collection of
small items for the homeless
Special projects
*Voter registration -successful
* NUTS- Neighbors Untied To Serve will again be done.   We will again do green
beans.
St. Luke’s Church will provide the facility for
cooking, preparing and will
be the distributing point
C. Finance Report-
* We’re doing O.K.
* $1 under our weekly budget needs.
* We are meeting our expenses but have no extra money
to be prepared for
anything extra- If everyone could
give $2 extra a week we could increase the
offertory
by $400 a week.
* Thanks go to Tiffany Bingaman for the layout of our
Finance report and to
Charles Roller for the
printing!!!
D. Old Business
* Lent Theme- healing- We will do something with this
theme since everyone has
healing issues whether they
are spiritual, physical, emotional etc...
* Home School Religious Ed Policy- being looked at by
Christian Formation so
our home school religious Ed
only families have some accountability
E. New Business
* An Ad Hoc committee has been formed for Parish
Planning- to look towards the
future- They will gather
lots of information, answer fundamental questions and
report back to the Council.
* It would be great if we could earmark the Startt
family money towards a building
fund so we won’t be
assessed on the income it gets from the diocesan
account.

F. Pastors Report
* October 14- Harvest Dance
* October 15 – Confirmation Retreat
* Oct. 20- Senior Luncheon
* Oct. 21- Praise and Song- By Brian Zedalis, Kate
Hartman and Deana Teeter
* Oct. 23-27 Priests Retreat- No masses these days – Communion services
Fr. Carroll will be in contact with the Parish in case
he needs to return
*Oct. 28/29- World Youth Day
* Super Sunday Nov. 4th- Focus on Saints and Souls
