Jan. 31 “Open Forum” for Adult/Youth
Parish and Family Life

Campus Ministry update:  32 college and 3 military supported by
our Parish
·
Sodality will prepare Christmas gifts for our shut-ins and those
in nursing homes
·
Update on Bazaar:  19 vendors/raffle sales slow
·
Youth Ministry update:  Pic. postcards at bazaar, ice skating,
bowling, Right To Life March
·
Discussed organizing a “Young Adult” group (up to about age 35)
Social Ministries
·
Vote about continuing breakfast in Jan., Feb., and March
·
Christmas wreaths ordered w/ proceeds going to CCHH
·
Received check from Dover Downs for $742
·
Looking at possible new fund raising activities:  50/50 drawings
at Super Sundays, statue drawing, spaghetti dinner

Breaking Bread Luncheon will be held at St. Luke’s in Denton in
Jan.
Liturgy
·
Diocesan confirmation liturgy meeting in Oct. highlighted:  
including parish-at-large, appropriate choosing of sponsors, and
modest dress
·
No response to ad in bulletin requesting help decorating
churches
·
Discussion about how to restructure, fix what doesn’t work, and
leave alone things that do work—no final decisions made
·
Next Youth Mass Dec. 9 w/ sundaes to follow
FINANCE REPORT:
·
Not much change from last time
1st wk in Nov. good collection
·
Nov. 11th collection <$800.00
·
·
<$9,700.00 since July 1
·
Hard look at past—speculate why?
·
Good news:  total slightly above last year, budget is higher
this year
·
2 choices:  raise revenue/cut expenses (not ready to do anything
right now)
·
Sporadic habits in offertory—need to address it from standpoint
of “stewardship”
·
Mike Porter asked if it could be that some don’t have envelopes—
however there is a choice of using envelopes on registration
form
·
Jeanne Wallace asked about setting up something to pay online,
Ed Centofante said that was discussed in Finance meeting and
would be brought up again
OLD BUSINESS:

NEW BUSINESS:

Looked at Oct. Mass Counts—there is a percentage increase in
mass attendance
PASTOR’S REPORT:
·
5 attended the Catechetical Congress, Bishop of Harrisburg was
keynote speaker
·
There haven’t been any Catechesis workshops recently
·
Advent event calendars will be mailed
·
Lent begins Feb. 6
·
We will end Parish activities a little earlier this year –
Confirmation in May
·
Adoration Tues. evenings 5:00-8:00 now until Dec. 11
·
Great response to NUTS collection!
·
Thanks go out to all for the cemetery clean-up
·
The Funeral Planning Workshop was well attended and with good
feedback
